Well, it started out as fanart of Susan from Discworld, but I'm not sure if it still qualifies. When I manage to capture personality in art, it's usually almost entirely accidental. So yeah.Smoke brushes (c) Le-Rain

Wow. I've never read/heard of Discworld, but this is amazing! I really like the hair, and the detail is amazing. If you don't mind me saying, you've come a long way.

Thanks Hair is so amazingly fun to do on a tablet.
Why would I mind? I'm happy to hear you say so. It's been a while since I did this, so I've improved even further...notably with backgrounds and faces. Been working on a pair of creepy angels in a dead heaven for some time most recently.

Hair is fun. Period. Except in real life. At least, mine gives me a lot of trouble.
I...really would like a tablet. Someday...
Oohh, when will that come out?
And, out of curiosity, how are you doing with the 100 Themes Challenge? I needa get back on that...

It's fun in real life for me too. It's ridiculously long and ergo very fun to mess with. I have had on many occasions Leia-hair, and it is amazing. Unfortunately it's also extremely fine and I don't want any gunk in it, so I usually have to braid it before messing with it. (Shampoo is the only hair product I can use without it going nuts. Seriously.)
As soon as I figure out which version I want to use. The original concept was to have them on a background of dull gray clouds, one staring eyeless at the viewer and another too listless to turn her head. But then through the interference of my mother, I ended up doing a completely different background--and otherwordly sunset with pink and blue and orange and general prettiness. I really really liked how it turned out, except then it didn't match the subjects. So I edited the subjects to make it pre-catastrophe. But it was so boring and cliche and just like all my other pictures. I'm thinking I'll go with the one with the original subjects, except with the sky darkened and desaturated a bit. It's not the concept I wanted, and my mom still says it doesn't fit, but I like it best...you think you could look at them and pick your favorite?
I'm about out of ideas for the themes I have left. Basically I'm just going to draw what comes into my head, and see if it fits any of the themes. Been doing that for the past couple entries.

I always wanted long, straight hair as a little girl. Leia-hair is awesomeness. ^^ Lately, though, I've been really liking my own incredibly curly, sometimes-frizzy hair. It hath character. ^^
Mmm...sure, I'd love to look at them!
I need to print off a copy of the ones I've done, and ones I need to do...then I can start drawing what I'm inspired to draw. I'm working on something now, but I'm not quite sure where it'll fit in. However...HTC is very versatile, so I'm not too worried.

Yes, yes it is. One of these days I'm gonna have to go as Leia for Halloween, with the hair. Just because I can.
Hang on, it's easy but annoying getting them all on a temporary host. I think I might just go with the dark twilight version. Include the gray version as a scrap or an offsite link or something.

Psychology is fun. We did a chapter on learning this last week. 'Tis very fascinating.

I'm sure it was. I want to take psych, but I hear it's styled like AP classes where it's not so much about learning as it is about teaching to the test. So I figure I'll just get one of those giant textbooks and page through it sometime instead.

Niiice. *laughs*
I get where you're coming from. Hmm...if you're just going to page through, you should see if you can get David Myers' Psychology text...he is a *Christian* author but doesn't take views in the book...besides, it has fairly good illustrations and the writing itself is clear.
Then again, it's the only psych text I've ever read, so...don't take my word for it.

Ah, perhaps. I'm a pretty dryly pragmatic atheist, though, so I find specifically Christian authors to be at least mildly suspect.

*shrugs* Can't blame you.
Blargh...I am really, really disliking English right now. The problem is that the teacher wants all this stuff for a 8-10 page paper in one week, including 50 sources that we're supposed to use...the thing that really annoys me is that she's given us a week to amass all those sources, which is kind of a problem, considering my topic is going to be Horse Therapy. Not to mention that I suck at writing anything persuasive...

Sounds terrible. Like, actually fifty? I have an actually good English class this year. This year's guy is a book enthusiast--he's a guy who likes books. Last year's lady was a literary analysis enthusiast--she's a lady who liked to talk about the parts of the books no one really cares about.
The class I don't like this year is government. Ew. Every night, a boatload of notes to take on the whatever chapter. AP classes are balls, all they care about it the stupid test >_>

Yeah, 50...I only *have* to cite 10 of them, but she wants a bunch of different categories and I don't know if I'll be able to get all of them. I just picked up a bunch of books from the library and some of them are 600-700 pages long. There's no way I'll be able to read the whole things before I have to turn my paper in. Your English sounds like fun...I love people who are into books. And yeah...literary analysis can be boring.
Yugh...I may have to take an American History class next semester and I heard that every week you have to answer 1-2 pages full of questions in the form of a paper. I don't know if I'd be able to do it...*sighs* I like history, but not that much.
Gov. sounds fun...in a demented, painful sort of way. /./

Well, ten isn't that bad. I had to do a few of those last year. The key is obfuscation.
It's not that fun. It's a good class and I like the teacher, but it's, well...not much to it. We read books. We talk about them. We do assignments, and far fewer essays than last year. We move on. We're reading really good books this year, though, if you don't count the two essays (Civil Disobedience and Self Reliance). The Odyssey, Macbeth, Cat's Cradle...
My problem with much of literary analysis is not that it's boring, but that's it's BS. You can find evidence for anything if you look hard enough. I swear, English teachers find more meaning in books than authors hide, and they definitely spend more time on it. And even worse, I've actually found that I'll be reading a book and suddenly realize that I've been analyzing it for the past several pages.
American History last year was awesome. The teacher pretty much ignored the test and taught real history, complete with the parts that no one likes to talk about and the parts that are irrelevant but cool. I signed up for history club because that guy was sponsoring it. Next semester my elective is Ancient/Medieval history and it's going to be frickin' sweet. (History FTW)
It's not. It's awful. It's tied with chemistry for my least favorite class, and I only dislike chemistry because it's right after lunch and it's a longish walk to the science building when it's cold outside.

Meh...ten on their own wouldn't be bad; what's hard is that five of the sources have to each be one of six types she gave us, and it's really hard to find good sources on my topic(Hippotherapy).
Odyssey is fun...and Shakespeare is fun too, even if it takes a while to get into the language.
That's so true...heh.
I was twelve when I took World History, but considering how immature and childish I was, I did really well. The teacher was pretty nice, but I don't remember enough of it to say whether or not he was teaching to the test or not. I don't think so, though...
Nice...to me, Chemistry's okay; I really do enjoy science, it's just the math that's included that I hate. The math, and the way that the textbook wants me to do everything the long way, including conversions that I could make just by moving the decimal point around. Other than that, it's fun.
Would you tell me how I somehow got almost 6 pages of lab report on your run-of-the-mill vinegar and baking soda reaction? Because I can't figure it out.

See, I was about to ask what hippotherapy is, but then I was a smart girl and googled it instead. I'm proud of myself
I'm almost done with Odyssey. Book 22 is a bit...disturbing. And awesome. It's about equal halves awesome and disturbing. It's awesturbing.
World history is next year. I'm excited. I'd taken it previously in 6th grade, but that was...you know, sixth grade.
I like chemistry because I'm actually learning something, not rehashing biology for the billionth time. Next year is physics. It's gonna be sweet. I don't mind the math because I actually love math.
Buh?

^^ Good for you. Well...I'm finally done with everything, so it feels really good. And a bit lonesome. I keep dreaming about school.
World History is fun...I really love when we get to go through all the fun Greek and Roman myths and stuff...
Sadly, I'm stuck with American History next semester, and I've heard from several sources that it's a killer.
True, true...I find I enjoy Chemistry a bit more if I'm actually up to date on stuff...
Yeah, no kidding.

I get through projects by halfassing them intensely in a short period of time and getting an A anyway. But if they want us to be productive, they really shouldn't put us in a room with all our friends and a bunch of fun technology. The philosophy project I did entirely in Windows Movie Maker (when we had access to Final Cut) and an old illegal version of Photoshop at home, throwing it together in 2 hours total. 1 hour for drawing, 2 for animating. We had two weeks to do it. Two weeks that I spent getting really good at Robot Unicorn Attack and beating Balloon shooter twice. And making faces at Photobooth. Heh heh.
Agh, I hate when they go through Greek myths. I've known them all for so long, even the really really obscure figures. I know all the different versions and random facts (for example, did you know that Dis is Hades's proper Greek name, like the City of Dis from the Divine Comedy? And that Zeus was the keeper of promises, and his symbol was the eagle, so that's why the U.S's national bird is the eagle, because our society is partially based on the Greek idea that society is a promise to not do things that are illegal?), too, so when they go through them it's all I can do to not go insane. As is I content myself with spewing facts all over the place to relieve the tension. Yeah, I was always that kid.
I'm pretty good on Egyptian mythology, too, less so on Scandinavian. I want to hear about all the other mythologies, but nooooo...
What do you mean, up to date?
