A great peice of art, well done and I have to say that Batman deserves a little off time, always running around trying to stop the Joker and such villians can be bad for ones health.

Catriona Malfoy is right. Who gave the concept of a former prostitute to Selina, was Miller. But I like this Catwoman costume, makes a little more sense than she walk purple up and down. Although the character is extremely sexy and beautiful anyway, I love her.
And this art is awesome. Great job!

Great stuff, but...I think there's a problem with Batman's right arm. The biceps look severely underdeveloped for the rest of his body and too long. Everything else looks in proportion, though, and generally excellent.

Thanks so much for the critique, I still need a lot of practice drawing men's upper arms.

You're welcome--I wasn't sure if I should've said anything, because really, from what I've seen you're really better than me in a lot of stuff, but I just couldn't help but notice that.
What I've noticed as a quick trick to tell that kind of thing--I've found that the length of the arm from the top of the shoulder to the elbow is about the same length as the head.

In general, I don't approve of the biker chick goggles wearing ex hooker version of Catwoman (damn Frank Miller), HOWEVER I do love the idea, and the art is awesome, so I'm giving you a pass despite the lack of purple. ^_- Meow.

Darwyn Cooke was totally the guy who designed Begoggled-Catwoman, not Frank Miller.

In Batman Year One, he wrote Selina as a google wearing biker chick ex-prostitute, who came from the slums of the east side. Other writers decided that was a great idea, and have since run with it, taking away some of the most essential parts of Catwoman, her playful naughty side that IS NOT the result of abuse, her intelligence, good up bringing, cleverness and sense of fun. Frank Miller took a strong, beautiful, sexy female character and pulled her down to a level that he felt he could deal with her on - by making her common, uneducated, a victim, and a whore.
With him followed Mindy Newell, Ed Brubaker and Daewyn Cooke. But Frank Miller started it all.

Well, the nice thing about the DC Universe is that it exists in "hypertime," so both everything and nothing is canon.
Sort of a "ShrΓΆdinger's Universe," if you will - If a past story is not directly referenced in the issue you're reading, it either did or did not happen.
As such, Catwoman's goggles aren't necessarily a reference to any story in particular, as much as just a design choice to fit her into the 21st century.

Bleh. Goggles fog up. Have you ever tried wearing them? And the writers go "they're practical!" they're not practical! they fog and you can't see a darn thing!
Lol. Schrodinger's universe. that's awesome. Especially since there's a cat involved.

Goggles don't fog up if there are air holes. That's why they're used in science labs.

In my experience even with those air holes they can fog up. Especially if you come in right after gym class and are hot and sweaty.

Well a mask would get equally as sweaty depending on the material. Also, having the eyes exposed is more hazardous considering all the quick motions she has to do. The long hair is also awful for close range battle which is usually what she ends up using; in addition, strands of her hair would be all over the crime scenes.

Hmmm... my only answer is that it's a comic book and that doesn't happen - and I hate when people use that logic on me. Masks would potentially mop up the sweat. Batman and all the others have exposed eyes (usually) and are fine. As for her hair... I don't have a good answer to that. I guess maybe she's not hiding who stole things as long as she gets away with the goods?

Well, all in all, I feel we shouldn't get on each other too much for a preference in design. It is just a comic book and it is meant to be a fantasy. It is up to the individual artist to decide how to depict their specific version of a character. Regardless of how they depict the character, the real character will always live and the good thing about that is that if there is a version that you don't like, you can look at the may others. I've seen plenty of versions of the purple suit that aren't related symbolically, just aesthetically. Just as with the goggles.
