This train was built in October 1959, Swindon, UK, and was primarily used to haul the heavy ironstone trains from the Oxfordshire quarries to the steelworks in South Wales.

Well, calling the steam gala at the Great Central Railway today a disappointment is a bit of an understatement. I was very disappointed with it. I was really looking forward to going as well. There were hardly any steam locomotives on display and it was rather empty.

The only highlight of the day was catching the eye of a rather nice-looking fellow and then, in that exact moment, accidentally spilling my drink and sausage sandwich down me as the train's horn made me jump out of my skin. I had to retreat rather suddenly after that to hide the look of my embarrassed face And because my embarrassment caused me to exit the train, I failed to realise it was the last train for hours to the station where I had left my car
