I actually based this picture off this song , but I do believe that the residents of Inkopolis and other places in the Splatoon Universe (like Hammerhead Bridge) celebrate New Years (even though this map is OBVIOUSLY NOT INKOPOLIS AND I KNOW SO DON'T BOTHER CORRECTING ME) by doing fun things like going to movies, hanging out at a friends house, or even going to the bar. However, some decide to pay their respects to the respective King and Queen of Inkopolis regardless of whether or not they are crowned and that's what these folks are doing here.

So... why are there only Inklings here? Well, you see, due to time and space constraints I decided only to include the Royals and their -known- full-blooded siblings (YES, there is another Royal Couple amongst the Inklings that are standing on the bottom!).

And why do they celebrate New Years as such? Well, to them and to some of us, New Years is...

An indicator that life goes on no matter how imperfect or unideal the world is
An opportunity that can bring hope to someone's life
An opportunity to care for someone you didn't care for previously
An opportunity to fix what is broken and make the world great again
An opportunity to celebrate anniversaries of important events
An opportunity to hit more milestones
A fresh start to a previously bad year or a year that could be better
For those born on New Years Eve or New Years Day, it's a sign that they're growing up

But most of all...

It is an opportunity to decide who you will be now.

This might be the last *new* SFM render I ever make, but... if I ever change my mind, I'll be sure to make more. For now though I'll just be posting some older renders I didn't yet get the chance to post.
