(James was the name of my beloved pet cat. It's also the first name of Capt. Kirk AND Capt. Hook. It's an awesome name.)

Age: He ages a little bit more slowly than a human. Chronologically he's 43, mentally/physically more like 35.
Gender: Male.
Height: 3'3.
Morphology:
- Body material: He is made of pretty much the same biological material as any other furry mammal with generally the same organs (heart lungs liver etc.). He's warm-blooded with an average body temperature of 92 degrees. His blood is blue and so is the inside of his mouth. The antennae are for scenting with. The little nub on his face serves no sensory purpose and is probably there for facial muscles to attach to.
Typical / current clothing: Under the lab coat he usually wears turtlenecks or polo shirts in subdued colors, and straight-cut jeans.
Accessories / makeup: That is the only pair of shoes he will ever wear. EVER.
Voice and speech: He speaks quickly and often rudely cuts off whoever he's talking to.

Average level of combat preparedness: None. He's really not a fighter at all. (Which is why this ref isn't as detailed as other of my refs; I'm not planning on entering him into any OCTs)

Original universe / setting / genre: The planet Mirentia in a sci-fi setting.
Born in: A hospital on Mirentia, which is a thriving planet known for its technological advancements.
Previously lived in: He inherited a huge mansion from his parents.
Currently lives: Still the mansion.
Family: He had smart, wealthy parents who both died in a car crash when he was a toddler, leaving him to be raised by a nanny-bot. Said 'bot wore out when he was a young adult. He has a dubious uncle somewhere whom he avoids all contact with. He may have cousins he doesn't keep track of.
Material wealth (personal): Pilau is rolling in dough. He inherited a lot of money from his parents and just multiplied it to insane levels by shrewd investing and business practices.

Despite having so much money, he's rather tight-fisted. This is a compulsion with him, not a desire. Somewhere buried in his psyche is the notion that when he spends the very last of what he inherited from his parents he'll finally be completely alone in the world. He's not consciously aware of this.
Social status: He refuses to hobknob like most absurdly rich people do. In fact, he's rather anti-social. He has a reputation for being smart but condescending and abrupt. People generally defer to him because he's rich.
Affiliations: Several business interests. He's kind of loyal to his native planet and kind of not- he takes pride in Mirentia's technological and business prowess but hates the bloated, inefficient government, which has made it incredibly difficult for him to get his work patented.
Close friends: He has a butler robot he likes to chat with and he has a beloved pet named Sparky who's this creepy dead-eyed spider thing who never makes any noise.
History:
- Childhood: He had a really hard time with school and was taken out early and tutored in his home. He had very little contact with other children.
- Adolescence: Decided he was ready to attend a public high school. He hated high school, but refused to drop out and go back to homeschooling, viewing quitting as a sign of weakness.
- Adulthood: Earned several degrees in technological fields. Tried to work at several different research labs but got disgusted with all of them and quit (or got fired for not playing well with others). Founded his own lab with his inheritance money, hired only the very best people, made craploads of money, invested in other companies, made more money, became one of the richest men in the galaxy.

What are your character's strengths? Very intelligent, analytical thinker, fantastic business sense.

What are your character's weaknesses? Stubborn as a pig, poor social skills, disregards what other people tell him unless they show him incontrovertible proof of what they're saying. (However, he's not sore or angry when he's disproved about something; he'll just be really really surprised.)

What does your character enjoy? SCIENCE (mostly computer sciences, machines and technology, with a special interest in psychic research, he's not so much into life sciences like biology and medicine), music, his high-tops, and COMIC BOOKS. He is a secret comic-book nerd. Superheroes, baby.

What does your character avoid or dislike? Philosophy (confuses him and makes him irritable), romantic comedies, mystery novels (because he figures them out early and then is annoyed with the characters for not figuring them out). And stupid people. Oh, does he ever hate stupid people, and anyone who doesn't like technology.

What does your character think is worth fighting for? Expanding knowledge. Improving the lot of sentient beings. All kind of lofty scientist crap.

What does your character fear? He's afraid of losing his money even though he knows that's irrational. He's a bit of a germaphobe and doesn't like touching other people unnecessarily. He's not generally too fearful though.

What is your character's general attitude toward life? People suck and then they die. Sometimes you can profit off of them first.

What motivates your character on a day-to-day basis? SCIENCE. SCIENCE. SCIENCE.

In a unexpected, dangerous physical situation, how is your character likely to react? If possible, he would try to talk his way out. If that's not going to work, he would try to escape first, resorting to violence only as a last resort as he is not naturally violent and is pretty clumsy at being violent.

How would your character react to an emotional shock, such as the sudden death of a loved one? His first reaction would probably be something nutty like

'WE CAN REBUILD HIM'!

When/if it sank in that 'REBUILD HIM/HER' is not, in this case, a viable option, he would probably be really struggling. He's bad at showing/coping with emotion.
