It was inspired by Downton Abbey Season 2 Episode 1 where Sybil says, "Sometimes it feels like all the men I have danced with are dead." I just like that line for whatever reason. The piece was sketched by hand and then colored digitally using Photoshop elements (because I'm a broke college student). It took between 6 hours to complete including the initial sketch. Don't think I have much else to say besides that I am really really pleased with this work, even though parts of the shading bother me XD. It's a big step forward I think in terms of my digital coloring skills compared to my past work. I tried using layer masks and they actually worked surprisingly well, yay for manipulation techniques being useful for other digital art. So onward to the next project! It's a tutorial
