Β©2013 Cassy Blue. You may not redistribute, copy, or modify this image in anyway without my permission. I entered this in the fair and got a best of show on it back in February, I sent to a statewide competition, so I'm waiting to hear how it did. I'm keeping my fingers crossed since last year I did place, but it was in the flora category.Isn't he darling with that little smile?
*EDIT AUGUST 3, 2013*
I got the results from the 4-H State Competition. Baby Gator took first in animals and best overall photograph of the competition. There was over 400 entries in the contest. I'm going to auction off a framed, matted, and signed print of this photo to benefit my 4-H Club.

That's a great shot. Did you ask him to smile for the camera?

Beautiful photo! You captured his expression wonderfully, and also the overall effect is nice.
The green leaves in the water can be a bit distracting from the main subject at first, but looking at the whole photo the effect is really good looking!
Really nice capture!!
About the watermark matter, can I suggest to use a more neutral colour and design? ^_^

What do you mean by neutral? I tend to use either white or overlay and this piece was hard to watermark because I couldn't do it in the foreground without it being distracted. I would love to hear your suggestion. I did try green, but it didn't work.

Maybe brown, kaki or graysh brown (as #a2917e , for example), and instead of setting the text to overlay, you could try to simply lower the opacity ^_^
And I think that the placement you chose for the watermark is perfect!

Whoa So, let's see...
The shot is wonderful and sharp. You captures this wild animal like it is in its natural area
(although I think it is in a ZOO or something like that) I don't know why but this pictureΒ broadcast power and evil! There must be something in that smile, I'm sure! The colours are wonderful as well but next time more bright
But I don't understand something... if you use an own watermark on your pic, why do you use a dA as well? It is a little bit disturb me in the middle of the picture... ><Β
(Btw: For the first time in the title I read 'Baby Gladiator' =$)

It was taken at a local nature center with a lovely pond and enclosure for the little guy. I keep on debating on using both watermarks or not. It's just that I'm paranoid, but so far I haven't had any problems. So I'm thinking I'll be taking them off because they are butt ugly.
Thanks
