Could I make this paint friendly so I can use it? I'm not able to color it how you said to do it. By the way I'm using gimp

You should be able to use it in gimp, right? I thought gimp worked with layers?
But, rather not... Sorry :I

Gimp does, but I'm not able to use it without it going out of the lines.

Are you not able to make the layer multiply?
If so, you should make the layer of the ref sheet multiply, open a layer under it, and then you should be able to work
Otherwise you should try selecting the area maybe...?

Oh wait, the lineart layer is the one on multiply, I thought the other normal layer was the one on multiply, makes more sense now
