lil paintings from 2016 while I was trying to figure out the right balance between brushwork and textures. I still feel like my work either looks too rough or overly sleek and polished idkI noticed while uploading these, that they all share a similar composition and mood too, only the color palettes are slightly different from one another hggnnn
I'll try to do better next time.

Its for you to decide but I think the balance is on point, but I do tend towards raw grit over polished plastic

Really nice. I see what you mean about similar composition and mood, they are definitely very similar - maybe it's the lighting, they all seem to share the same lighting setup, gloomy foregrounds with a highlight half way up vertically ( albeit different sources ). I was imagining what one would look like if say it's lighting was switched to a stark light from left or right. Very different feel I think.
