I'm winking at ~EatToast
Because it's her birthday!!! Go spam her dA account with cakes :D
I made this animation last night to experiment with several frames before I'm actually going to start an official music animation. I've never made a drawn animation before. So far, ~EatToast is the only one who knows what exactly I'm going to create. Since I was able to discuss with her some ideas, this is dedicated to her.
First drew a random eye and made 7 other frames. In total, this animation has 12 frames.
All frames were drawn on a single super thin A4 paper with HB pencil. Shiny drawing table with spotlights used!
No references. About 3 hours of time.
EYE FACTS

For this one, and my animated avatar, I used ImageReady. But from experience I can say that it's not very useful for complicated animations!

Be prepared for a LOT of work...my 42.75 second vid for class took me well over 48-65 hours, and about a ream and a half of paper...and I'm being modest in my guess...

I shall keep it in mind, although I would have guessed it would take me at least a few months to get in completely finished. But I don't mind
What kind of software would you recommend to use for animation? I put this together with ImageReady, but it's hard to get the timing right

Um...well, I've only made a traditionally drawn animation using "Lunchbox" to capture each drawn image and then it's placed into the computer via some basic video program on the computer. I've heard of ToonBoom though, you could try that and see how that works for you. My classmates were talking about how well the program helped so

as an animator, i think that the blink is too slow for an eye, blinking is usally a very quick action.
it's a nice animation but just too slow for the believablity, i would say maybe take out a few frame, when i do blinking it's only 5 frames, eye open, half closed, fully close, half open and fully open. but this is on 2's

I dunno. I think it looks really cool when you can see each individual frame. I worry if it is sped up it would lose the visual detail.
