Haha a little something for you, my friends!Some probably think:
"Not that animation again"
Yeah yeah. But I'm too proud of this project. (;
This small file displays 10 individual frames per second, a total of approx 250 frames. That's a loooot of drawing...
It shows a small part of a handdrawn animation which I finished on June 9th. I spent over 1000 hours on the entire project, as about 840 frames were drawn on a traditional way (pencil on paper) and scanned each of them carefully.

i love animations like this, i'm not sure exacally what it is about them that i'm drawn to but i really do like how you get the feeling of it being a traditional animation as well as a 'making the character' animation.

I think it's the little flaws that a traditional animation shows, rather than the "perfectness" of a digital animation

those little flaws are definatly a part of it. I had a friend in my drawing class that for his last few prodjects persued some simple animations, one was just a machine running until the man running it left and the parts of the machine slowly stopped working. Most of it was very simple and done in loops with the little man running it just a black silloette that may have been made exclusively in Flash. But the machine was hand drawn as well as the visual effects that came from it of turning gears, smoke coming from the vents, and the electricity at the top of two metal rods in it.
The second project he did was fully traditional and i saw the stack of pages he had of each drawing, sadly the prodject wasn't finished fully but I'd say he had half of it done, and that along was an impressive amount of work. The idea was the 'drawing yourself into existance' while keeping it simple and the figure was about as detailed as those posable wooden models. He's said he wants to finish the project when he has the time, so i've already seen through a friend just how time consuming animations of any kind can be.
