I'm not blond, for instance...
Melody is my most beloved character. Maybe because she reflects to who I am, or who I used to be...
I didn't use a single reference image, except for a picture of myself, so I could give her some features of mine.
It doesn't look completely like me, just parts of it.
Exactly what I had in mind.

Melody, an ancient creature and distant relative of Nora , has the gift to heal people with her sacred voice.
However, her heart got broken by someone she held dear, to whom she had given her heart to.
It's her curse to live without sound, as well as her voice, until the one with a pure voice will sing her ancient melody.
The only melody that can give her hearing back.
The hymn of love that is long forgotten... Is there still anyone who remembers this song?

I like it a lot. First off, what you wrote at the beggining is just beautiful and has such a nice meaning. Then the symbols there, it was a really creative idea. I like how they reflect little pieces of her, and discretely describes who she is. Then as usual, the drawing alone is just amazing! Her eyes look like if they were staring at you, she looks very real. And her hair is just beautiful as well, how the tips curls around. And in my opinion it's hard to do blonde hair, I alwasy end up makin git look darker than it should. Very good job! (as usual)

Blonde hair can be pretty hard to draw indeed, but for this one I actually wanted to draw dark brown hair. But since the overall image would look too dark I changed it (on time) to blonde. So this time the blond hair was easy to draw.
I'm glad you like it so much, that means a lot for me since this drawing comes from the bottom of my heart.

well, sort of!
The hair in the back (next to her neck) was dark but I thought it looked really bad so I changed it to blond by erasing a LOT and then started to draw everything else blond

Oh and, I was meaning to ask, how did you make the dried tears? Are they just shadowed down?

Ooh, I see. I'm sure that it looked quite nice, but still I like the blonde outcome. Perhaps you are right, it might have looked a little too dark altogether.
I have a hard time doing blonde, for the highlights and shadows have to much contrast and overall looks a little strange, like here for instance [link] . How can I make it look more uniform?

Not as much contrast (between dark and light) as your other works, but it does not take away from the composition and visual appeal. Very sad expression extremely well drawn (probably something in the eyes). I like the visual shapes this picture creates.

Hahaha yeah I've learned a lot when I drew all these portraits from reference images.
It's nice to try draw realism without refs once in a while. I'll do it more often, that's for sure!
