Description
I guess this speaks for itself...Some portraits I made in the years from 2001 'till... well... last month!
I hope this encourages people to create the things they like, whether it's drawn from reference images or just totally made up.
Sorry for the low quality. I can't post a high res version of this thing right now because my internet connection is terribly slow since last week. And my internet provider says they'll fix it within 2 weeks. Grrr!!!
If you want to see an old version of a 6 year progress, check this out:
From 2002 to 2007
Take care people. Sorry if I haven't replied your messages yet (the notes about this 3gp converting included). I'll read and reply them as soon as possible. ):

I've been following your work for about a half a year and it's just amazing to see how much you've grown since even before I discovered your drawings. Like a lot of other people mentioned, this is a real inspiration for me. I think that it's reasonable to agree that practice does make perfect.

It's just amazing how much you have improved over seven years!!! Just goes to show how dedicated you are and how much you enjoy drawing It's neat that LOTR was an inspiration to you, they were for me too, that was what got me drawing!

That's so awesome. LotR kicks ass it's fun the story inspired you too to draw the characters.
Thank you I think I did improve quite fast through the years, but there's always more room left for improvement

*nod* Nice progression. You've really come far fast.
*grin* That is very cool that your first was Metallica. That was kind of my first, as well....only I did their shadowed faces from the Black Album.
Heh...I think my brother still has that. He's the one who infected me with them to begin with.

This makes me want to draw so badly. I think I will, seriously. Right now. Because the urge to become this well (even though it'd take years to get to your level of skill) is overwhelming after looking at this progression.
Ah, you are my idol.

What can I say? Awesome. I'm STILL working on that anime L; I suck at anime. Grr. But, all I have to do is his hair. Also, my fics have been calling me for about three weeks, so that's one of the main reasons I haven't been here lately. Well, anyway, this is about your work. Great job! As always!
God bless!

This is really an insperation for me--this past year I've sort of transitioned from just drawing faces without worrying about proportions and details to drawing more detailed portraits, so it was exciting to see an amazing pencil artist like you and how you were once at a stage like me! That gives me hope that I'll be improving over time! Thanks so much for sharing this!

You really have come a long way man.Did you use references when ever you drew and did you practice every day?
π: 0 β©: 1
Cataclysm-X In reply to rtedk [2008-05-31 20:30:06 +0000 UTC]
in the beginning I made up things like creatures and animals without using images. But since I discovered I liked to draw with a reference image, I practiced a lot that way.
I'm kinda sorry I didn't draw imaginary things anymore. But oh well... I'm doing my best these days

hehe thanks Marion
the funny thing is... the periods I draw the most my skills stay the same. And when I draw just a few (1 or less drawings a month) the quality of my drawings are getting so much better! makes no sense to me!
