I wish love was the wind that carries me away,
and like in a dream, birds would fly all around.
I wish it was a ship, to sail in the newborn day,
hiding my thoughts, to keep them safe and sound.

I wish love was a cloud, all dark grey and weary,
to float right above, and release on me its anger.
I wish it was a secret, hidden in a green prairie,
hurting to come out, leaving my chest asunder.

I wish love was a star, the sky’s brightest sight,
and make me wonder, how did I get so pale.
I wish it was heaven’s apple, waiting for a bite,
so that I would know it is my destiny to fail.

I wish love was two eyes, so young and clear,
burning like fire, to cast myself into their flame.
I wish love could come to find me now, here,
and I would embrace it without a bit of shame.
