Description
So - I made an Avatar! It's not the most complicated thing I've ever made, but I like how it turned out, so I thought I'd post it. This is 3D, but I've been learning to use Reality and LuxRender just recently, and I like the realism added with the lighting camera options. I used Kodachrome 200 film response, Film ISO 80, Shutter Speed .66, f-stop 2.8 and a gamma correction of 3.25. I added a slight bloom to give it a late '70's folk-singer album cover look (at least that's what I was aiming for). Anyway, hope you enjoy it! There was actually no post-work on this one, although I may go back and do a little to the hair. Since it's main purpose is to be a thumbnail, I originally decided not to be neurotic about it.© My work may not be reproduced, copied, edited, published, transmitted, downloaded or uploaded anywhere at any time without my permission. Thank you.

Thank you very much. I'm actually am a natural redhead with fair skin - but almost no freckles. All the freckled people I've known hated theirs, but I always wished I had some.
Thanks for the compliment!

Thank you! Although I think part of the credit has to go the Film Response filter my render engine provides. I used Kodachrome 200. Even though I usually have to mess with the gamma correction to make the colors look anywhere near realistic, I really like the Kodachrome film response. If you're a Professional Filmographer I can guarantee you know a thousand times more about film than I do. But of all the film responsive filters I have available to me, I think Kodachrome does really saturated colors really well.
In any event, thank you for the compliment!

Hey Eden.
If you recognise my avatar here from 'another place' we both visit, then you'll know who I am. I go by another name here.
This is a really nice picture, beautiful. I definitely got the 70's folk album feel from it when I saw your avatar 'over there'. You should be very happy with the result, but then what artist is ever truly happy with their work. You've got a lot further in Reality than I have. I takes too long to render for most of my stuff but I'm still going to use it every so often, whilst looking for quicker alternatives.
You should definitely do a version 2 in a higher res and may I suggest lowering the bloom a bit. It completely washes out most of the detail in the sleeve.
What skin texture did you use?

hmmmm....you do seem familar.....
I agree completely about the sleeve, but it's not the bloom causing it (at least not entirely). I have an overlap of two lights there, and it successfully washes out that sleeve. However lowering either of the them throws the shadows out of balance. At this point, when I remove the bloom layer, there is no obvious difference with the sleeve. I'm going to try fiddling with the lights and seeing if I can resolve the issue before I re-render it (which I do plan to do). Luckily there was no post work (other than the bloom layer, which is an option you can enable directly in Lux), so if I can get the lighting resolved I won't be losing hours of modification if when I re-render it.
Also, reality renders take forever. This one was just 900 x 900 (it was meant to size down into a thumbnail) and I just let it render overnight - I knew it was going to take numerous hours. I don't know if I'm going to ever bother rendering an entire scene with it (I might if I like the scene enough, but I'll probably do all the material tests in Reality and save time doing most of the lighting tests renders with DAZ's native 3D Delight). But if you find that faster solution, be sure to let me know.
I used Rhia for Lilith 6 as the skin texture. It's at Daz: www.daz3d.com/rhia-for-lilith-… .
Anyway, thank you for the feedback and compliment, I very much appreciate it.
