Edit: Naka passed away after an age-related stroke in September 2009. She was a good girl.

Naka and me. She sorta looks like a cross between a corgi and an overweight dingo. I loves her. In any case, it was an attempt at a looser looking subject. uh. sorta worked. They still kinda look doll-like instead of alive, but at least it's closer! I plan on doing a lot of variations of this sketch for Photoshop practice. Tomorrow's goal-- flat and graphic.

This was hand sketched, vector lined in Illustrator [i know there's an easier way, but i'm not smart enough to figure it out] and colored in Photoshop. I had originally thought that digitally coloring my sketches would lessen the time it would take. Holy hell was I wrong. It took me 2 hours of sketching and 6 hours of coloring to make this sucker. I just KNOW there's some shortcut that I'm unaware of.
