Greetings,with all due respect you should put little more effort here because you use gradiant flare from GIMP and that's it.
If you used the tool from some software does not mean that you're using all.I'm sorry but it bothers me

I think anymore might be too much....but I am open to thinking about new things...what would you suggest to improve this piece??

Listen dear you are very good artist and I see your great effort but sometimes you must think whant you want to accomplish and then to work nice and slowly if you want to create something good.Whit GIMP you must be skilled which means that you should practicing more if you want to see results.In this case I don't understand what you try to create but I can see to much blur and this framework is completely unnecessary,blocking freedom of movement.I can try something If you don't mind.

I am incredibly impatient but I do like this piece and the effect it has. I do get your point with rushing though. I am learning and trying new things all the time whih is good but I get bored easily and tend to jump from thing to thing which I can't really help (I've tried) it's part of my personality. The frame is kind of optional but I see why you might think that. It's just a colourful abstract really - something which would enliven a dull workspace if hung up. Thanks

This is not good because you will start to lose yourself and basic idea relatively the reason why you started to doing this in general.I had similar problems.You must to take a rest if you want to be focused on work.I combine several software in order to create something new but while I worked only with Gimp everything it was just fine but now I lose my creativity.Be well and take care
