DESCRIPTION:
This contest will be very much like the last Character Interaction Contest that I held in November. However, instead of being judged on the interaction, you will be judged on the way you are able to capture the pivotal moment in one of the character's lives where they overcome a weakness or character flaw or learn a lesson that might impact their character in a positive way.
For example:
What event might have caused Prism or Hot Head to become more humble? What may have caused Cotton Candy to become better at working unde

Fletcher: *shoots another arrow*
Valiant: Fletcher! Out doing some late night training?
Fletcher: Oh, sir! I mean, your highness. Yes, sir, I'm having trouble sleeping.
Valiant: I'm off duty, just Valiant will do, Fletcher. Shall we train together for a bit?
Fletcher: If you'd like, I'd be happy to.
Valiant: Your move.
*fifteen minutes later*
Valiant: Well done, Fletcher. *pant* you gave me a workout this time!
Fletcher: Thanks! *gasp* You too. Training with you always pushes my limits.
Valiant: You're a fabulous trainee, it's always a pleasure to see you in action.
Fletcher: hmm. *looks away*
Valiant: Come on, let's take a walk to cool off.
Fletcher: *follows*
*after five or so minutes of small talk*
Valiant: Fletcher, you said you couldn't sleep, is something bothering you?
Fletcher: Oh, nothing important.
Valiant: It must be something if it keeps you up. We're friends, Fletcher, you can tell me what's keeping you from being at your best. I didn't see you at the last Apple harvest either, I thought you liked hanging out and helping at the farm?
Fletcher: *sighs* That's kind of the thing... I'm no good at helping out at the farm. I'm no good at anything other than being a guard, and even then sometimes I fail.
Valiant: Wow... I'd no idea you felt this way... But your in training, you're allowed to make mistakes, it's better to make them in training then learn how to do it perfectly for the real thing.
Fletcher: Starburst says that too, but it's frustrating being a one trick pony! Everyone else is good a so much and I can't do anything other than guard! So I'm not much use at Apple bucking...
Valiant: ... Hmm. Let me tell you something I was told by a pony I met on a royal outing with my cousin and aunt, a story if you will.
A few years from now, there'll be a young colt. He lives with his father but his mother died when he was little. One night, his father is away and he said he'd be back late. While his father is away, his house is attacked by monsters and, terrified, the young colt tries to escape. He calls out to his father but he is too far away and can't hear his cries. The monsters that attacked the house now chase after the colt and he trips and falls. The colt hurts his leg and can't get up. Just before the monster reaches him, a strong, stallion guard comes to his rescue. The guard chases off the monsters and returns to the colt.
"Are you hurt, young colt?" He asked kindly. The colt shakes his head. "Then get up. Where are your parents?" The colt tells him his father won't be back until late. "Then I'll stay here with you until he comes home."
They wait together and soon the father comes home. He thanks the guard and the guard goes to leave.
"Wait!" Says the colt. "What is your name?" He asked. The guard turns around.
"Fletcher."
Fletcher: Wait, what?
Valiant: It's just a hypothetical story. But in a few years, you might save a young colt or filly. And you know what, Fletcher? That young colt won't care if the only thing you turn out to be good at is being a guard, because your being a guard saved his life.
Fletcher: ...
Valiant: If being a guard will help you save ponies lives, does it matter that you can't buck apples from a tree?
Fletcher: Thank you, Valiant.
Valiant: You're welcome. Now let's get back.
