Description
Creative title is creative!A quick painting to experiment with light and shadows and how they effect each other, and the varying light within a forest. Not much refining, didn't want to spend a lot of time on a single piece. Used a reference whilst painting, so not the most creative concept. xP
Going to try and do more of these, hopefully one a day if i manage my time well enough, to help me progress my environment skills.
2 hrs in photoshop.

This is awesome! I really suck at environments, and I was wondering what's your process? Like, is this all on one layer, or is there a few?
I love your work btw!

Thanks! And I usually work on one layer, and whenever I get to a point where I start revising/making changes I'll add a new layer and work there. It helps to do it that way because if you make some changes and you end up not liking it, you can just go back and delete the layer. Also definitely paint from life/photos, it'll help you progress your skills a lot.

I like this a lot. As you probably can tell from my forest paintings, stuff like this is right up my alley. The grass in the sun captures a great feel.

forests are so captivating for some reason, it's like they each have their own personality but an underlying similarity. can't help but be mesmerized by them.
and thanks.
