Okay, I watched yesterday the Simpsons-episode "The Haw-Hawed Couple", and these quote is so true and so sad. As I said it before some times, my favourite characters always dies
And these sentence let me laugh in my pain.Here is again a little list of some of my dead favourite characters(every dammit time...)
-Dustfinger(well he came back)-Inkworld

I absolutely hated it when Carn died in Inheritance, and when Sapphire died in Sailor Moon R. This is actually my number one writing rule! No one can die!ย ย Well, they're not all immortal, it's just they don't die.ย
Als, I don't remember that Valtor/Baltor "died." Maybe it was worded differently in the Valtor verson. In 4kids it just said he went to be with the ancestral witches.ย

Byrne didn't technically die, he just lost his human form.
As for Grovyle, Rex , Rudger, they were some of my favorites too

Well, that's right. But he lost his human(?) body, and his memories. I don't know what happend to him and the old guys, after they vanished. Maybe they get new bodies or stay as these "lightballs". But, Byrne lost everything which includes a life-his body and his soul. Who knows how he live after Spirit Tracks?
But you're right. After all, he's not complete death. This we can't say for other characters...

yeah, at the end of the 4th saga he jumps down from candracar because he is to pride for prison. The show didn't reached that point, so maybe that would have happened there too
