Description Merman and Hannah in the 2012 Carolina Spring Classic , they are in Level 3 Showjumping

First place!

They were taking it a little easier on Merman this time around.

This show was spur-of-the-moment, and they hadn't really given Merman any time to prepare. On their way up from their most recent show in Florida, the staff noticed an ad in a local tack shop. 2012 Carolina Spring Classic the bold title letters read, Held on the secluded grounds of Tamarack Park
Caroline brought Hannah over to the flyer. "Hey, Baby needs some more show experience, and I don't think Merman would mind the exercise!" Hannah nodded. "Yeah, that sounds fine. Maybe we could rest up a little bit there too..."
So off they went on a small detour, hoping to gather some ribbons and experience!!

He could have shown in Level Four, but they wanted to go easy on him, he'd had a busy year so far.

The group collectively decided that Hannah should ride Merman through this course. Although she would never believe it, she was the best rider of the three. And none of this was to say Merman was a bad horse--he was perfect--but they were all worried about him slacking off at the smaller height.

They were right. Merman usually gave his all, he truly did, but he was tired. His usually perfect form was faltering, he was jumping flat over the fences.

Hannah had to squeeze him extra hard to get the proper amount of strides, and he not once looked for a big distance.

Despite his performance, they had a good round. Nothing to write home about, but nothing to cringe over either.

Thanks!!

I rode in group lessons for 8 years and have taught a bunch of lessons, so I'm used to seeing how people's form is when they ride, definitely go to the barn and just watch some lessons!

Do you watch others ride?

Collectively I must have spent....800 hours watching other people ride.
