[ This is one of my favorites. It's a young apprentice geiko on the phone. She looks like she's talking with someone she misses, maybe her sister? This is from an old black and white photo from pre-war Kyoto. What do you think? We want to rework this for a full-sized painting, any tips for improvement? -ed. ]Sumi-e Adaptation from a photograph かかってきた電話 in the book entitled The Gion Quarter by 浅野喜市. From Oct. 2012.
