There's an urban fairy tale I once read about a young girl whose mother had died and her father was addicted to alcohol and "matches" - a kind of drug like crack but it dissolved into your skin instead of being smoked. By the end of the story, the girl dies - as in the HCA tale this story is a reboot of.
That's what this picture reminds me of. I'll see if I can't find the name of it. The entire anthology is a wonderful read.

I found my copy of the book again. The name of the story your picture reminds me of is called "The Last Day of the Rest of Her Life" by Russell Davis, available in the anthology "Little Red Riding Hood in the Big Bad City".

omfg!! Certainly got the soft and luminous part! Some of it feels a bit cold though; lots of icy light blue. Very beautiful!
