She took her flashlight and there it was, a young teenage boy cat caog, lying there with all of his clothes stripped off. He was beaten and tattered, his eyes stuck closed with frozen tears. His shivering was intense. The sight made Kanri gasp. She covered her mouth. “Oh my god…” She then turned to the basket, remembering the blanket.
Dropping the flashlight at the spot, she rushed over to her basket. “Come on, blanket! Get out of there…” Once she pulled it out, biscuits went flying everywhere. She was upset that her food had been wasted, but there was no time to clean it up. She had to save this kitten. Kanri ran back to the pile. “Don’t worry, little one. Let’s get you warmed up.” She sat him up and wrapped the blanket around his shivering body, then holding him close against her. “Oh goodness, you’re freezing!” He could not open his eyes, but he couldn’t really move at all anyway. Kanri then lifted him up, keeping the blanket tight around him, covering all but his head and feet. He was heavy for her, but she refused to put him down. As she walked by the basket, she sighed. “Well, looks like I’ll have to cancel tonight’s biscuit run.” Leaving the basket and flashlight behind, she rushed back to her place.
