For the majority of her life, Penn was fairly content with how she lived. Her family was always behind her, supporting her to thrive in her school work and be a positive member of society. She was on the school track team, got into the college she wanted, and has friends she thought she could rely on. And this is how it was. Until, Penn realized a certain fact about herself. Or rather, the fact that she was attracted to someone else. One of her classmates. A girl classmate. She was always the type to flirt with the girls in her class, although she usually treated it like a joke. But this time, the feelings were awfully real. While her family wasn't extremely religious, they weren't the most open-minded folks either. So, she kept this a secret. Over time a relationship bloomed and Penn fought with the guilt that she was keeping this part of herself hidden from her parents. The guilt ate away at her, leaving her feeling almost depressed at times as an affect of hiding who she was. In a fit of passion she broke the news to her parents, and they're reactions did not help Penn's already plummeting mental state. They couldn't understand what they did wrong, and the fact that they felt something was wrong with their daughter stung in Penn's heart more than anything. Over the next few months Penn began to push people away. While she kept up her charismatic charm, it all felt hollow. Even in the forest, she still fights with this darker part of her.

She watched the trees and the occasional house zoom past, and after a few moment lifted her gaze to peak towards the sky through her silvery pink hair. All she could see was a choking dull gray. If only the sky was clear... This fog made it impossible to see beyond what was along the sides of the street. Although, she supposed the weather was suiting for the mood. The white wooled girl was just on her way back home from the optometrist with some pretty odd news. Glasses, really? Babette thought, tearing her blue eyes from the window and sinking deeper into the seat of the automobile. Glasses made for sheep's faces looks just dreadful, but was she really brave enough to deal with contacts instead? Although, she could get some colored contacts... Oh yes, she had always wanted hazel eyes. Did her insurance even cover contacts? Sighing once more, the teen rummaged through her sweater pocket and pulled out her cellphone to share the news with her friends. Maybe if her insurance didn't cover them she could get a part-time job somewhere... Anything but wearing those god-awful glasses. Beside her, her mother was ranting on the phone to one of her friends about how unfaithful men are, with only one hand on the wheel. Babette bit her lip, tightened her seat-belt and sat up in her seat. Honestly, dying in a car crash would be just awful. She had seen photos online (unwillingly of course) of bodies that had been in crashes, and had nightmares for weeks. It was enough to scar her out of trying for her licenses. Being behind the wheel of a vehicle was just too much power for her to take.
