Belle And Sebastian CD cover I made for a contest.Belle and Sebastian are a soft rock group I'm into, nothing special in terms of their music, but they're more quiet, reflective, and mean more than just what they say.
I tried to give a calm feeling and a sort of "hidden" meaning to it, that just because the words (the girl) is in front of the scene, doesn't mean there isn't something behind it.
Belle and Sebastian is a TM of Belle and Sebastian
The BBC Sessions was a CD released in December 2008, a compilation of tracks from 97-01 (c) Belle and Sebastian

I think you acheived your goal with the "hidden" meaning. I tried to figure out what the little cutout sections were for like 5 minutes, and to no avail.

actually, the cutouts are the same picture but without the girl. It was taken near a stair banister, and that's what it is. I kept the lower image in colour to stress the hidden, maybe the different colors threw you off, but you can see the continuation of the barin the top of the BW photo.
