Just kids who don't
know what their moves
allude to, as they
bump-grind-grind
around the dance floor,
pressed against sweaty
flesh (the aroma
reminiscent of old gym shorts
locked up in a dank room)
to the beat of some
vulgar verse while
sipping from overgrown
baby cups (the broken glass
meaning nothing but
a coming of age),
yet dribbling the
sticky liquids along
tile squares just like toddlers;
it's fun to play games and
break the rules, always afraid
of getting caught (not quite
like flies in a spider's web),
yet when the fun is over
the bad ending has yet to come,
sending liquid humans stumbling to the
nearest hole in the ground (silently
awaiting the toxic gift) to
bestow a day's worth of use;
slowly and painfully they slip
into sleep wrapped around
the bowl like a scarf;
come morning all the
fun is over as brains scramble
to remember where they are
and what really happened
the night before...
