Description
I am the blazing sunslipping below the horizon
on this warm, summer day;
My dusk gown, a mesh of bleeding fire,
brushes strong, bare backs
as stiff limbs swiftly stroke
across the brisk ocean's skin;
Content sighs flutter forth,
escaping my lips
to land on weathered flesh,
bestowing feverish kisses
unto men of the sea...
I am the cool fingers
that strip salty sweat
from puckered brows,
that combs through
your warm, damp hair,
tickling your scalp
as I glide in
from the northern sky;
My gentle touch springs mist
from the lapping waves,
freeing droplets of water,
allowing them to dazzle the sun...
I am the frothy sea
embracing your craft
with tender care
as I surrender the bounty
below my tumbling visage;
My hands soothe
the worry from
tired, longing minds
as they're lifted by
the wind's firm grasp;
In our graceful dance,
we rock, twirl, and fly...
I am what awaits
at the end of the journey,
my dark skin a beacon
and my hair of green foliage
a promise of life;
I battle the ocean and
shake hands with the wind;
I bathe in the glow
of the sun's constant smile,
praying my children return to me;
I am Mother Earth,
calling you home...

if I may, I strongly believe that a semi-colon would fit a bit better in this break:
at the end of the journey(
My dark skin a beacon
Other than that, I truly enjoy the way that this piece flows and holds together like the frosting between my animal crackers

I'll have to take another look at it. It's been a while since I read it over. Thanks for the advice and I'm glad you liked it!

That was so good! The description of Earth was so pretty. This is a great way to get people to recycle. :0)

I was hoping I'd get some inspiration and write something for that contest,
but now I know I stand no chance.
great piece of poetry
PS: and I don't really care for the journal feature they give anyway

Oh, don't let me stand in your way! I'm sure you'll be able to think of something awesome for it! It actually took me a long time to come up with that...I did it in pieces over the past couple of weeks...or whenever it was that they originally put it up there.
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it!
And thanks for the
too!!!!
I really appreciate it!
I try to be nice and look at the features, but sometimes I don't have the patience to read through all of them. I know that sounds bad, but it's true.
