Description
The rooms rememberme though I have long been
absent drifting through years
of dusty pages
their edges curled into themselves
yellowed like an alcoholic's glazed
eyes. Don't you remember me?
but I don't remember
your bellows your
clogged snores drifting through
the ramble of the television
and your Jack Daniels
cologne sticking to foul lips
pursed yet fluid
wavering like a mirage a lie.
I've never seen you before.
Close the book end
the chapter with its
bleeding lines muffled memoirs
fading in the sunlight.

I know Nick Flynn! I think you caught a type of tone that he has. He has that neutral feeling in his words that still carry such emotion. It's so inspiring and I love this also. It gives me that sick feeling which is a feeling that goes along with the alcohol. (How I interpret it.)

That's awesome! What a small world, lol. Thank you so much! I'm glad I was able to capture the right type of tone in my poem. Sometimes it's hard for me to tell how close my imitation poems get to the writer's style.
