Daylight has come swiftly
on Apollo's chariot,
his wild horses grazing the sky...

Their golden manes flicker
about their tossing heads
like strands of the Sun's
fiery locks...

Their hooves rhythmically
clattering against the
horizon's halo, smolder
as the pyre does when
ablaze with fire,
chiming the morning
with their bell-carol shoes...

Their voices sing out,
calling to the souls of
the wild horses on the planes;
yet Apollo's white stallions
are wilder than even those
free spirits could be...

Battling his hand, they race
across the sky,
testing Apollo's might
with their need to
soar higher,
closer,
to the Sun's loving smile...
