Description
Upon a steep mountainsideWith sharp jagged cliffs
Hidden beneath snow and ice,
Lives a wrinkled man
Of many years
For ages he has dwelled up there,
Through history he has travelled,
But how does he survive up there
In such a perilous realm?
Caution, deliberation, wisdom
And forsight,
Frugality, vigilance
And presence of mind
Without these tools
Long ago would he have died,
And would always remain
The fool who tried to live
On a mountainside

I like that you wrote it as a story, something like a minstrel would sing. Very inventive!

Thanks! I had a hard time with this one...it was the last one I wrote and I was really annoyed by the fact that I had gotten the other 3 done and couldn't think of anything for the 1st in the series! LoL.

Hm. What a very worldly virtue. It almost seems self-serving at times..... But of course, that is the nature of prudence in extreme I suppose. "Moderation in all things, as the immoderate Greeks said."

True, true... It's always nice to have moderation.
