essence of truth
garbed in fleshy cloaks
that mask its true identity;
when stripped bare it
shines not of earthly goods,
but of an unpolluted essence -
like nature preserved
in its prime, where
concrete forests don't exist
and the sweet scent of
dew dancing on the foliage
can be tasted without
these flabby tongues
resting in our heads.

Refinement does not
belong to the rich,
nor does it serve the
nobles holding court;
it does not discriminate
or care about wealth -
not even jewels that
gleam on the fingers
of those fortunate beings
clambering up the staircase
of the social status quo
can dazzle refinement's eyes,
for refinement is the purity
our souls seek to find
as we shed our tainted shells,
revealing the innocence
we possessed in infancy...
