the airy shell cradling the soil;
two lives shattered and scattered
with hardships (enough to fill the
raging oceans and drink them dry);
two lost souls found after
a lifetime of searching...

The passion locked in your eyes
captures my soul, tugging it
ever so gently into the well of your love

You hold me close, those soft hands
whispering the tender thoughts swiftly
escaping your mind as they trail down
my spine and urge rippling shivers
to spread across my skin

Velvet lips soothe these hidden scars,
puckered and pale, with a
healing warmth that rushes beneath
the flimsy casing protecting my soul;
they hover over my throbbing arteries,
track my veins, lull my heart with
an unsung melody that runs deep
within the realms of emotion

No words spoken...no sound but
the trickling rain tap-dancing on the roof,
slipping down the windows, trying
to glimpse our splintered lives mend,
congeal into a love worthy of Heaven

We lie together in the ashes
from our descent, huddled together,
clutched in an embrace: a promise
we will forever keep, as witnessed
by the Moon on her throne atop
the celestial paradise up above
and all the stars in her court;
together, we will rise from
these ashes like the Phoenix
and soar to new life as
the Sun's glow sets our
wings ablaze with light,
until we too resemble the stars
as we rest in the night sky...
