Description
Say goodbye to your gilded ships,Worn down to their rotting hulls,
Till the gold shines dull and the tattered sails hang,
Lifeless in the windless air
Goodbye to your precious posessions,
You so cling to before death,
The materialistic greed that veils your eyes
Displays power as a dish,
Served into your hands
And as the gaping mouth that is the sea,
Swallows what once was her daughter;
You will sink into those cold, deep waves
As you follow your precious ship
To the frozen tips of Hell

I think the title really fits. This feels like something you would read in class. What was your inspiration?

I don't really know actually? The first line of it actually popped into my head in school and I thought, "I better write this down, or I'll forget it." LoL. And then when I got home, I figured out the other lines. Then when I went to give it a title, I couldn't think of a good one. So I skimmed through the poem and couldn't find anything that would fit, so I just used say goodbye. Thanks for reasuring me!!!
