I walk with moonlightwhen stillness creeps up the spine,
like clammy hands of an obsessed lover
brushing across his idol's flesh.
The lick of his tongue on my toes
is simply the dewy grass
pricking and poking up between my
nubby digits.
The chill is damp like his breath
trickling up my body,
unwelcome foulness - scents of
decaying meat pouring forth at my neck -
caressing sharply at my senses.
I shiver and goosebumps rise on my exposed skin -
merely bubbles surfacing on a placid lake.
Burning wrists feel raw against the cool water.
Tight gasps clog my lungs.
I fight the memory of him,
fight the confused rage of why.
His heavy body pinning
His mouth roaming
His gleaming eyes before-
STOP! PLEASE STOP!
HELP ME! PLEASE!
Staggering legs collapse beneath me,
water engulfs my mind and
all is paused, suspended in time.
I cradle my knees in the true serene -
the amniotic sounds beneath the surface
are a lullaby my mother sang to me.
Raising my head, I stand,
let the water wash away the scars,
the pain.
A memory remains...
But it will never live again.

So I got the impression of your rape theme by stanza 3, but your metaphors hold strong on their own regardless. Your goosebumps surfacing on a placid lake, and your dewy grass escape, stood out to me most. As a reader I feel violated before your memories return to save me. Especially coming from reflection opposed to some reality of your own, I wouldn't have known otherwise. There shouldn't be such time between writings like this. Hope to see more from you soon
