Description
Ok, I drew this the other day...well, yesterday. I've had this idea in my head for a while and never really had the inspiration to draw it until just recently. It's of Jesus on the cross and I liked the idea of putting angel wings on him...now, I'm not Christian, but I do believe that Jesus actually existed (a common belief in my religion). Hopefully no one will find this inapropriate...I used 3 SEMI-HEX drawing pencils and a 557-2B med charcoal pencil for a bit it as well. It's not the best thing I've ever drawn, but I think it's pretty good. Hope you like it.

I'm a Baha'i. We believe in one God, that all religions are equal, and we believe that all the messengers of other religions actually did exist and were really messengers from God. Now, do we believe that Jesus is the son of God? Not in the sense that Christians do. We believe that all people are the children of God (and animals of course). We believe in evolution, that it's all part of God's plan for us. That's the general overview. If you're still confused about it, you could always check out my parents' website: planetbahai.org
Hopefully that helps!

I always thought that God and evolution were at opposite ends of the spectrum?

It really depends on who you talk to. But we believe that religion can coincide with science. The way we see it, why is it so bad that God wanted it to take billions of years before humans came into being? Is it bad that God created our world and let things work on their own? Isn't that more extraordinary? The fact that we happened to evolve after so many years? I would like to think so.

But what about it taking 6 days for God to create the world? Why would that be written to mislead us? Im still learning stuff..so help me out here!

Well, we don't believe in the whole 6 day thing (which can get dicey sometimes if you're talking to a very religious Christian who doesn't want to hear anything different.....it's not fun). We believe that God created the world, yes, but we don't believe he did it in 6 days. After all, we believe in evolution, which took several million years. Hopefully this is helping. I've always felt that my explanations aren't as good as they should be.....I have a hard time with it sometimes....sorry.
If you have a lot of questions, you might want to check out my parents' website. I think they've got links to other Baha'i websites too, so you can check them out if you don't find answers to some of your questions. Sorry I'm not much of a help. I really don't know as much about my religion as I should, I guess.

Thanks! It's not the best drawing I've ever done, but I think it gets the point across.
