Description
In the gloom of a hidden castledwells the lonely Beast.
The garden walls, alive with roses
bleed a dark, crimson beauty
for the eyes of invisible
guests or poor souls who are lost.
That’s the only way to find it: if you’re lost.
Deep in the mysterious forest, he found the castle,
was attended by invisible
servants, only to be ruined by a rose.
Once torn from the vine, the beauty
in his grasp, doom came in the form of a Beast.
Forced to send his youngest to the Beast,
the white-haired father called on Beauty.
It was her choice. She was to become lost
in the green labyrinth and brought to the gates of a castle
where she was alone, besides the invisible
servants: a gentle breeze, scented with roses.
She would walk through the rose
garden with the massive Beast
and dine with him in that black castle.
Each night he would ask Beauty
to marry him; the servants, invisible
though they were, witnessed her refusals and all their hopes were lost.
Beauty learned to enjoy the Beast’s company, lost
in the mystical forest. But soon, the dark castle
halls grew into a prison and not even the roses
could lift Beauty’s spirits. “Home, let me go home Beast…
if only briefly,” she would plead. So Beauty
was released (but had to return) and rode off until the castle was cloaked with invisibility.
Home: the warm comfort of her family. No invisible
servants to fuss over her, no morbid castle,
no Beast…Beauty’s heart fluttered at the thought of the Beast,
her Beast: the love, without whom she’d be lost.
She had to return, her time was up, and his was nearing. Beauty
raced back to her love as the last petal fell from her rose…
The garden of roses wilted, the castle
began to fade, it was almost invisible, and all life was lost.
But their love prevailed and they remain: Beauty and the Beast…

You gave it that dark flavor I'm always a fan of. Good punctuation and my only crit would be the caps! Grr, every line start! ^.~

Thanks! I did the pattern wrong though.....so when I revise it and turn it in for a grade, I'm going to have to figure out a way to keep it mostly the same way....I really didn't like it when I wrote it, but my class thought it was really good. So did my teacher, except for the fact that I messed up the form.
