I wanted to participate in inktober last year but I found out about it around 9 days into the month and didn't want to start late, so told myself I'd do it this year XD
I've been pretty excited to participate this year and preparing for it a little, but wasn't 100% sure I wanted to participate and wanted to practice more and just start next year XDXD I felt like I'd be missing out by not doing it though and doing it would help me improve, so I'm doing it anyways!! I've also pressured my friend into doing it with me, so now I have to do it haha!!
I'm going to try to get every day done on time but if any end up late for any reason then I'll be probably be posting them the day after and catching up as soon as I can because I really do want to be on time with each piece!!

I really wanted to do a full Pokemon based inktober (because I looooove pokemon)!! For each theme I'm going to come up with a pokemon-related idea around the theme and do that for it Since the theme for this one is swift, instead of just going with a fast pokemon, I wanted to do it based on the move swift so I did a sandslash using the move swift!

I also decided that since inktober is about mistakes and improvement, I'm not allowed to restart on any piece-- any mistakes are final and I have to live with them and try to fix them (rule is that I cannot restart on another piece of paper- I must continue on the messed up drawing, otherwise I would keep restarting XD) XDXD
I immediately regretted this rule (but reluctantly followed it) after deciding to color this sandslash's spikes without a ruler because I was too lazy to get one and was like "HEY, I can draw straight lines and I don't need a ruler!"
After realizing I really screwed up and needed a ruler, I once again set out to face death and laziness by trying to cover up the not-straight lines with more not-straight lines XD

The oddly un-straight lines are pretty much the only thing I'm upset about currently, so I've totally learned my lesson and will be using a ruler on any coloring lines on future pieces XDXD Inktober is about improvement and I've definitely left plenty of space for that haha! I'm really excited about working on the rest of the prompts even though I'm not 100% happy how this one turned out >u<

I'm also trying to use really inexpensive supplies (not really as a challenge, more because I'm a cheapskape and cheap pens are what I'm used to using XD) so I'm using the cheap papermate and bic pens along with a $1 (ADORABLE and tiny) sketchbook that I got on sale haha

ALSO sorry for disappearing off of the face of the earth for a little while! I was playing a looooot of skyrim and doodling traditionally to try to prepare for inktober a little bit? Mainly playing an unhealthy amount of skyrim, but you know, it happens ;v;
