They finally arrived. Finally. After months of preparing the horses for the upcoming adventure, Rovie could not believe he was finally standing here. At some point during the long months of training when he thought about giving up on his registration altogether. It had been a hell of a year and he felt quite... oddly out of place, finishing the year without his family, alone in the harsh weather of the trails, even if that seemed to motivate him months and months ago. But, it was something he needed and his family, understanding his deep connection to this need, had made arrangements for him to embark on this journey.

As a child, when his dad was still alive, he would often hear about The White December. His dad dreamed with participating at some point, and he died before it was possible; TWD was something that always wandered in his mind, and it felt as almost an obligation to participate, not only in memory of his late dad, but because he was the one who installed his love for these animals and this specific discipline.

So, Rov prepared his two trusty mares and decided to bring along the youngest and most inmature of the 3 young Zlesdins , Skúa. Many back home thought he was crazy not to bring Mum, the more experienced mare, but Skúa was the obvious choice, as she was an endless machine of energy; not only that, but there was something specific about the mare's usual demeneur that reminded him of Kargo, hovewer he could not pinpoint what, as Kargo was a dominant prescence and Skua seemed to always be a kind and curious sould with everyone. Despite her lack of experience, Skúa already displayed a certain elegance and curiosity that convinced Rov she could meet his expectations during the adventure.

Now, settled on place with Skúa, goodbyes were in order. And man, even though he knew it was just a matter of weeks before he'd be reunited with his family, this time around getting away from them felt as that one was the bigger obstacle of this whole trial. As he left Skúa to graze, he turned around to see his siblings and his daughter, engaged in some kind of conversation and marveling at the scenery. Of course Dagna insisted on participating. Thanks God and everything divine age limitations did not allow the teen to participate; she was upset for days, however the prospect of passing Christmas back home and with her grandmother seemed to lift her spirits. Then there were Emilie and Jim, both of whom happened to share the same misadventures throughout this whole damn year as him; leaving the two of them behind was something he... did not look up to, actually. That was the cherry on top of everything, his main reason for wanting to back out at some point. Jim wanted him to participate. He did train to participate too and had trained himself for it, but his recent health struggles made it impossible. Emilie, the ever pragmatic force of the family, had scolded him for even considering not going. Too much time and effort had been invested to back out now.

He hugged them goodbye as hard as he could, reluctant to let them go. Sometimes, he marveled at how vulnerable he could be on the worst of moments, feeling like a small kid. et, he had to remind himself that he wasn't that old—life just had a way of making him feel otherwise.

Promises to reunite for the next phase and bring Cucao along were made, before the 3 of them decided it was time to go away, as the travel back home would be long. Rov focused on Skúa, resisting the urge to look back and change his mind. He knew, deep down, that he wanted and needed to embark on this adventure.

Thing happened, and rov is taking this trail by himself. Not gonna lie, this is so far behind my storyline it seems funny to try and avoid spoilers.
But he just needs to do this by himself and. Yeah. TWD is the one thing that introduced me to Harpg but I did not enter this community after like... years after. xD
