I'm pretty sure it's superhero law that if you meet up with another hero in a crossover there will at some point be a fight due to misunderstandings.

I think between Wolverine, Spiderman and the Hulk - you've probably got just about every single Marvel character have a beat down from one of them at some time... but then I think Spiderman was (as you say) particularly guilty of meeting people and have a bit of a bit of a fight with him, as I said - it's pretty much the first rule of a crossover.
