Description
Merry Christmas, everyone!! I hope you have a great holiday! And a white Christmas!!!Okay, so I did a photo similar to this one a while back but wasn't too happy with it. So, I dug out all of what little leather I had left and got to work with Wintersong. I think I managed to finish making the harness in a little under three hours, but I'm not sure. I had a bit of trouble making the collar. I started out by making a wire frame then built it up with leather, it actually worked pretty well.

This is the nicest Breyer photo I've seen. It has such a lovely feeling to it!
You've pretty much re-created the perfect "Saturday Evening Post" picture, in my opinion.
Norman Rockwell would be SO proud of you! No one makes art like this anymore. Awesome job!

How did you do the harness? Or is it a secret... I love this model, but I can't seem to find a harness to fit him.

I love him too. Yes, he is a Shire. It's one of Breyer's Christmas horses, I can't remember what year, only that this mold was also used for the Gypsy Vanner drum horse.

Lovely shot, very natural and very calm. Congrats!

Oh now I really, really love this! You don't see nearly enough 'scenes' done with Breyers so this is a welcome change.
Wintersong isn't as tall as I thought he was next to a rider so I might just manage to squeeze him into my space deprived room!

Great picture, my only question is... where's the connector piece between the rear rigging and the harness? It's just sorta sitting there, lol. That mould is my new favourite... I just got Fox Valley Oliver the other day. <3

CatWink In reply to avadakedavra13 [2008-12-21 06:24:36 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, it's kinda floating out in space there. Lol! Because of how I made the harness with the collar and the pull being attached directly to the tree, the rear rigging was supposed to haze a piece that attached to the pull, but I ran out of leather... As soon as I get more I'll add it!
Fox Valley Oliver is awesome!! Congrats!!

Haha well, if you ran out then you ran out. Nothing you can really do there. It looks awesome just the same. You make really smart and clean-looking tack.
Thanks! X3
