The contest was to depict the feudal characters meeting the characters from the fic, which is set in the future (circa 2500). Of course, you can bring InuYasha to the future, but you can't expect to leave his temper behind. The feudal Shippou would, of course, treat InuYasha as he's used to... with the usual consequences.

Rin, meanwhile, is trying to figure out how this Shippou's DNA can be so similar to the Shippou of 2500 (and yet very different), and it just a tch distracted...
