Description
A species of aliens with plasma brains. The Quitp come from the moon K’tan orbiting the gas giant karould in the Vasalh system.

THE PLANET
Karould is a Jupiter size gas giant that is composed of 85%H2 and 15%HE, that orbits the binary star system Vasalh (meaning “twin bolt”). Which are an orange star, and a red dwarf.

It is believed that Vasalh was once a white giant, however, due to high electrical stress it ejected some of its material mass, with some of it becoming the red dwarf with the rest being either small rocky bodies or the gas giant Karould. Combined with a small reduction in the supply of current over the centuries, has lead to it turning into a binary system.

Like the stars, Karould has awesome amounts of current passing through it, and because of this Karould has electrical stress, which it regulates by ejecting its material mass or capturing comets and nearby rocky bodies. Leading to Karould having dozens of moons of various sizes and the powerful current being evened out, with some of the current building up into the giant causing parts of it to ionize into plasma, as well as extreme weather, such as storms and lighting. One of these moons being K’tan, the home of the Quitp. Which is a rocky and dry ice moon with its atmosphere being made up of 50%CH4, 40%N2, and 10%CO2. In addition, small high-speed meteorites pass through the gas giant and its moons as well.

BIOLOGY
Quitp are carbon-based lifeforms. With a height of 2 meters, a width of 1.2 meters, and a weight of 46 kilograms.

The Quitps main body is a tube-like structure, with the body being mainly made of a high strength diamond compound that protects its body from high-speed collisions, as well as acts as a heat shield, and superconductive materials. While the rest of the body is covered in orbs that act as “hands” by manipulating electric currents, which in turn manipulates objects, they are also used for propulsion and shielding, and for repositioning and rotation. These traits allow the Quitp spaceflight which they used to go to Karould or the other moons, this is used in order to reach these areas to gather materials.

Extending from the sides of the body are large wing-like protrusions, they act as radiators that and along with coolant stored inside them, get rid of excess heat in the form of radiation. Underneath the body are four legs arrange evenly across the bottom area, and its “mouth” which is in the center of the area. These legs end into four-digit feet with said feet having a material that allows the Quitp to stick to surfaces, much like that of a small lizard, along with these feet they can both dig up materials and cause an electro repulsive force that launches the Quitp up into space.

The mouth of the Quitp has a wide disk shape form to it, and surrounding the mouth is a circle shaped object and two prongs, they produce a Birkeland current which sucks up material underneath it into its mouth, which takes it to what is called an elemental processor via expansion and contraction. At which, said processor processes the materials into superconductive materials. And other types of materials in order to help and maintain the Quitp’s ability to use electric currents for energy and their growth/development.

Quitp rely on the currents that permeate across the planet and its moons heavily. From using it for propulsion and gathering materials to using it as their source of energy. And to form the most defining feature of the Quitp, their “brain.” Located at the top of the body is the brain, which is composed of plasma. This is due to two fin-like spikes that form a z-pinch on gases in the center, until the gas is ionized into a plasma, with it held in place by both the spikes and small protrusions that occupy the rest of the top area using magnetic fields. This allows the Quitp to have amazing processing capabilities, that are used to maneuver and navigate, and to handle and direct the current passing through their bodies. It is also likely that the Quitp have such a brain as a consequence of their access to such high amounts of energy. It is said that this plasma brain is so bright that anyone looking at it suffers “permanent blindness” leading to the Quitp wearing dome like helmets when interacting with non-Quitp.

However, due to such heavy reliance on their environment, they didn’t expand any further than the moons and the planet they orbit. As going any further would lead to them losing their connection with the current, with their bodily functions and brain slowly shutting down, until eventually, they die. It wouldn’t be until the introduction of high storage batteries by humans from first contact, and Birkeland current and fusion power generators that they would be able to live outside the planets orbit. This also leads to them having high requirements for planets to colonize as well.

Quitp reproduce asexually by making a large ball-shaped “egg” that is made up of materials that make up a Quitps body and their DNA. And it remains in this form for two months until the young Quitp break from the egg in grub like forms, though they still stay near the sac to gather materials and nutrients for their development, after three months and when the sac is depleted, they are fully developed and then set forth to reunite with the rest of the Quitp.

CULTURE AND GOVERNMENT
Quitp culture is incredibly religious and spiritual. With them showing great interest in philosophy and other such matters, and with religion so ingrained into their life that the idea of separating it from anything is an alien concept to them.

Another aspect of their culture is their sense of community. Because of closely knit they are due to their environment, they have strong bonds together, take care of each other, and to make sure they're safe. Which in turn leads to them having a high trust society with little to no crime. Along with having incredibly festive activities, and advanced mathematics, particularly in geometry and astrology. And having advanced technology that is based on using electric currents like how they use them. Such as having machines and devices powered by the currents.

The Quitp do not have a government. Instead, they have what is called “the goualled.” A form of consensus where all Quitp involved come to a majority agreement in order to make a decision. With it being based on signals that came from their biology that binds all Quitp together over vast distances instantaneously. Leading them to also be in a form of harmony and to work together. And to help each other without the need of a central government or high authority. Though, they do still have themselves assigned to certain roles in order to handle and maintain themselves in certain situations and areas. Such as combat.
