"Like my father before me, I became leader of the Cimarron herd..."

That sentence was in my mind when I read about the contest. [link] The theme is about 'Deleted scenes' from the movie 'Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron'.

I wanted to join because I had the idea of Spirit standing there together with his father, Strider, watching over the herd, like he does when he is grown. I would have wanted to see them run together. Like him and Rain do at the end of the movie

Took about three days and ten hours of work. Yes, it doesn't really show but I was so inspired and worked a lot to get it at least a bit satisfying. I drew two detailed sketches and coloured the second one two times with a lot of love. I took some screenshots as reference. But there, the mountains, the sky and the lake are blue and there was not enough contrast between them, so I recoloured it with grey mountains. Ok, I admit it. My backgrounds are still not so good but I'm practicing to improve. And it was so much fun
