did some experimenting with glazing, rather than the normal way I shade. It's a lot easier to get more dynamic lighting this way so I think I might do it more often (not to mention it's a lot faster than normal shading).bubbles
sorry for my lack of posting this summer... as some of you know, I moved back to canada, and i'm still trying to get my life back in order. I got accepted to the animation program I wanted to get into, which I am super happy about... but i'm also super nervous...
I'm glad to be back home though, as much as I miss tokyo. I wasn't... doing so well there >_> for some reason i'm finding it harder and harder to interact with other people, and it started when I was there. Every time I try to do social things I just have so much anxiety that I prefer to stay alone and just do my own thing. It is awful, I know, but I can't help it... I'm getting a little bit better now that I have my family and bf and such, but... it's just so hard ;_; I'll mean to message people and talk to people on skype, and then somehow I blink and two weeks have gone past. Then I feel too awkward to say anything to them, and just kind of curl up and die internally.
That wasn't a happy rant >_> sorry...I just needed to get that out......

Oh man, I love the colors on this! I agree that this is more dynamic.
Good to hear you got accepted into that animation program! I remember you were really nervous about submitting to it. I wish I could have seen you before you left Tokyo (and now I don't even live in Tokyo anymore!) and it kills me we didn't go to an owl cafe. At least you don't have that loopy roommate anymore!
We should talk on skype sometime, if you aren't too too hermity, haha. I've been wondering how you've been now that you are back in your home country.

My skype name is the same as my DevART name. I usually have it on away, whether I am there or not, but if I'm there and you say hi I will probably be able to chat for a bit. Though if you don't have internet, not sure how thatwould work, haha. I guess you could use the app for the iPhone?

We had some major ups and downs in coming here, but I do like the city itself. The only thing I hate is the fact that the spiders here are MASSIVE. Like... ungodly huge. I saw a couple this big in Tokyo every once in a while, but here it is a daily occurrence to see spiders the size of my big toe making webs all over town. The best days are days after a typhoon because all the spider webs are knocked down and I temporarily am free to walk around without fear of walking right into one.
And yay for internet! I pop in from time to time but usually stay on away since I don't, like, monitor my skype activity too closely... but you can leave a message and I'll probably get back to you in not too long.

Congrats on getting accepted to your animation program! That sounds like a lot of fun, but I can understand how you would be nervous!
I have a hard time interacting with people as well- mostly people I don't really know so well, and it's worse when I find myself in unfamiliar surroundings. My mom was super worried about me moving to Minneapolis for school (which sadly didn't end up happening), mainly because I didn't know anybody there and I can be very reclusive. I hope things get better for you
