Description
I sculpted this little guy for the Doctor Who spin off show Sarah -Jane Adventures. It was sculpted in wet clay over a fibre glass life cast of Mr Jimmy Vee, a well known creature performer. The sculpture was a little over 4 ft tall. It was moulded as a 2 piece fibre glass mould then cast in foam latex and painted. I was responsible for the sculpture, moulding and some fabrication but did not have a hand in the final paint or animatronic on the head and cable control on both hands.Related content

I rather miss the Slitheen in Doctor Who. Sure they was disgusting by doing fart's, but that's what was probably most memorable about them. Maybe Chris Chibnall should bring them back as a nod to the good old early day's of modern Doctor Who

They where allot of fun to work on. Mad to think it was 15 years ago now.
Shooting the new season at the mo, so you'll have to wait until next year to see what monsters/aliens grace the screen.
My lips are sealed!!

Ha Ha, no worries, in the mean time, someone else here on Deviant Art once had a little time spent on Doctor Who, Dave Hobday is his name, he operated his very own 1988 Renegade Dalek in the 2015 episodes 'The Magician's Apprentice' and 'The Witche's Familiar', I'm sure he'd love being friends with another Deviant Art user with someone else who works on Doctor Who
Here's his user icon to his page called Vote Dave His got this website detailing his experiances of working on those two episodes for the 2015 series of Doctor Who that's worth looking at too thatwasmydalek.blogspot.co.uk/

He was a randy little bugger as well, lol.
One of the beautiful things about animatronics is how you can flip his nature with a simple control. He did get allot of girls pining over him onset.

He would probably eat me in the end, but as long as there was a photograph of me cuddling him beforehand, then that'd be okay. XD

Unfortunately I can not take the credit for the look of the Slitheen. It was very much a collaboration between Neill Gorton and Russell T Davis. The main brief when sculpting the baby Slitheen was to make sure he didn't look like ET, lol. It was harder to achieve than I thought.
Thanks for the comments.

Many thanks for the nice comments. See your both Doctor Who Fans.
I've worked for the very talented Neill Gorton at Millennium FX as a freelancer for the last 8 years so have worked on Doctor Who, Torchwood and Sarah Jane since 2005.
Been an amazing experience and an honour to be part of.
Thanks again.
