Description
Top left, clockwise: a closeup of the garuda Yagharek, Yagharek's wooden prothetics (a shot that I particularly like), the old construct mopping, a red wyrman , an aspis, the female khepri Lin, a Remade chick on stilts, a Remade horse with enhanced pistonhammer legs, and a mafadet (kind of the opposite of an aspis, eheh).Snippets of imagery from the enthralling novel Perdido Street Station by China Mieville, which I'm currently reading and am absolutely loving. You can see why.
Graphite. Crappycrappy scan clean up too. Apologies!

I've heard Adamant Entertainment are making a RPG supplement for Bas-Lag. They should stick artwork like this in there.

*hi-five* We need an awesomest-people-in-the-world club for people who have read MiΓ©ville. I can't believe he's as obscure as he is, his books are absolutely brilliant. I especially like the mafaded - nice perspective - and the khepri in the corner. Lovely!

I read Iron Council. It's *nuts*! There's also another collection of short stories out, but I forget what it's called x.x

Only one of those short stories are set in Bas-Lag, apparently.
I've only read Perdido Street Station.

I just met another guy who did the Weaver - it rocked! And so does this! Faving now.

*poke* Get your hands on "Looking For Jake". It's a collection of short stories Mieville did recently. One of them is a short story about Jack himself. It rocks.
And yes The Scar rules. Bear witness to Uther Doul and his Possible Sword! XD

I loooove Mieville.
Really like all of those The Remades and Yagharek especially. Lin...I've never been able to properly imagine Lin. You've done a nice Lin - though it looks a little like the scarab is just perched on her neck. Or maybe I just want it to be more human head-like

Hey, khepri are awesome. Don't dis on the khepri. The males are all just dumb oversized beetles, the only intelligent ones are the women. They are phenomenal artists and fighters, and have all this primitive but cool bug-based technology. They communicate to eachother with smells too.
(I know, this was almost seven years ago. deal with it)
