Description
Roaming the compound are cumbersome sumps- bred giganticly swollen neuro-endocrine glands, they secrete high concentrations of profitable biochemicals such as hormones and neurotransmitters. Sumps continuosly dribble and vomit up the fluids which filter through the fine grate of the floor, where it is collected for processing.Sumps are normally 'tapped'- like a keg -by amputating their face and parts of the forebrain, greatly increasing flow and making the large beasts much easier to handle. They forage for their own food- slurping up what they can find with the nub of their exposed esophagus, supplemented by troughs of nutrient broth left out by their owners.

The most frightening aspect of this is that I can see the human in it.

You ever read the book Treason by Orson Scott Card? For some reason this very vaguely reminded me of it. In any case you'd probably really like it.
This is just phenomenal, I'm jealous.

honestly if I would spot one of these somewhere I would get in a fetal position and cry like 2 new born babies even if I knew that it wasn't dangerous, I guess my mind would cave in. It's got no facial features...scary.

This creeps the hell out of me. But that's what I love the most. The image of it sticks in my head and festers in my nightmares and I see it in odd places like in a piece of burnt toast.
..No, seriously, really incredible mood. Very much a struggle, or some kind of a desperation in the pose. Really incredible.

But wouldn't thier uh.. waste products.. also drop down through the grate? Do they just get filtered out? Seems like an odd system, you'd get dust and possibly grit falling down there and everything. I'd attatch a small tank to them, which would much reduce the cost of filtering all those valuable chemicals a million times.
But ignore me.
It looks awesome. I love the idea of a face/brain amputation the make something more useable.

CBSorgeArtworks In reply to QuazarShark [2008-06-25 18:20:57 +0000 UTC]
The grate has holes far too small for macroscopic objects to fall through, basically, and the filtering process would be simple enough that you'd have a nonstop supply without any additional work on your end- could basically turn on a faucet and get what you need. lawl, logic

Wonderfully creepy. I've always loved your disturbing creations, and this one fits right up there. I love the design and concept, though the hind legs look eerily human in nature. Makes you wonder just what they were genetically bred from.
How big do they get? I have to wonder what they consider as food to be slurped up during foraging. Heh.
