I had a nightmare once, where I too was trapped in a series of endless office hallways like that. They were filled with zombies in business suits, but they never did anything... I tried talking to them but they just kept on walking.

In the end I thought I finally saw a window to freedom at the end of a corridor. But I woke up when it turned out that the beautiful landscape outside was just a painting behind glass. Somehow that's one of the scariest dreams I remember from my childhood.
