Description Today, I was bored. I woke up one day and said, "I think I'll try my hand at pixel art." And here we are.

Naturally, I am a complete amateur. I opened GIMP and started doodling using the Pencil tool.

I kind of like the result...I actually don't have an opinion. I was shooting for something I could use as an emoticon on the chats, but it's a bit more detailed, so it became difficult. I also thought of animating it, but I got lazy, and just decided to make it a lazy Cucco.

Free to use~ If I get some positive feedback, I'll consider doing some more. Maybe.

EDIT: I've requested a code for this to become a proper emoticon on The Emote CLOUD found here: [link]

EDIT 2: Thanks to your votes, it is now publicly available for use in the chatrooms using the code ':lazycucco:'!

It's rather cute for pixel art.

Is there a certain site that shows you the basic codings of say, 'icons', 'emoticons' and such? Of course, you do need to add in your own codes and sizes just to replace the original codings (if that makes sense).

thank you ^^

I've been doing some research, and supposedly something called emoteCLOUD that is part of dA helps with the basic codings of emoticons. I've been looking for a decent link, but unfortunately I'm still a bit confused on the topic in how to replace codes, etc.

I THINK the emoticon code has something to do with a specific group type, but I have no idea at all how it works. x_x; I think once a group or ID is set up doing : iconnamehere : is how it works but... never tried it.

Lemme test with my own user icon and see what happens!

Ok that might actually work? I guess all the emoticon things link to their profiles anyway so... yeah, I guess making a group thingie for it IS how it works. o__o
*tries to refrain from makign up a bunch of groups just for emotes* >_> . . . <_< . . . xD

But yeah, for "amature" work it looks great! My first pixel art...good lord I should just dig it out and show it off. I made mine in MSpaint though too. xD

there HAS to be an easier way! My other alternative would be just making it into a plz account, but I'm not sure how I can personally get it to work on the chats using just :lazycucco:.

I also hear that there a separate codes you use for if you want others to use it as well, or just you exclusively. !

And haha, MS Paint is a great tool for pixel art in it's simplicity. I still miss those days C:

I'm going to wager the plz accounts are basically just groups, and the "plz" attachment has become known on DA as "this isn't a group, just use the icon and have fun". Maybe.. at least in that sense all you would have to do is apply and there you go...though..isn't there a limit on the groups one person can found? There's got to be another way to do it then. I really wish information like this was put into a more organized easy to find place...like a DA info wiki or something. >>;

And seriously! I remember those days. I designed my first fan website in MS paint. XD

yes, a dA info wiki would be nice :U

however, I did find the emote CLOUD, which is where you apply to have your emoticon get it's own code. It just needs to be voted up by a couple deviants when it gets up, though.
